Toyrist collection is about being a tourist before you even arrive somewhere.

Combing “tourist” with “toy,” a term from graffiti culture used to describe someone inexperienced or still learning and not knowing the unwritten rules.

The title reflects Szabotage’s trip to the Faroe Islands, approaching it with curiosity, and an outsider’s perspective.

The collection explores like a tourist observes, reacts, and sometimes misunderstands, working from a surface view rather than lived reality.

In a time where travel often begins online, we encounter destinations through curated highlights before even arriving. Szabotage responds to this by layering his existing visual language, with stencils to reinterpret the imagery he has absorbed about the Faroe Islands. The work reflects a “pre-tourist” state: shaped by fascination, but still distant from the true atmosphere, culture, and sentiment of the place.
