Urban Observations
En Plein air
French for painting "open air" it was a technique popularised by some of the great impressionists who enjoyed being able to capture an atmosphere right at the time of experiencing it.
Urban Observations Collection
The collection Urban Observations comes from Szabotage's love of buildings as he first trained as an architect. The artworks were created and completed outdoors, painted "en plein air" amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. He explores the intricacies of the relationship between a city and its communities. Using his bold colours to create depth and to symbolise the fast paced energy that is alive in Hong Kongs vibrant thriving city.
Simply using just spray paint and marker pens and a few stencils, these live paintings often attract a crowd as people gather to watch the vibrancy of Hong Kong be translated as-it-happens onto canvas.
Shown here is Art Supermaket where Szabotage regularly exhibts and Soho in Central, Hong Kong.
