Nunc est Bibendum Limited Edition Giclée Print
Szabotage went on the BTG tour 2024 and created an art piece to document the trip. It was an awesome experience and this print includes the signatures of the thirty drivers and their cars on the tour... A car nut's dream.
This piece is titled "Nunc est Bibendum", Latin for "now is the time to drink," which felt fitting given the unexpected challenges we faced throughout the trip.
The painting features the Michelin Man, a nod to the original figure from late 19th century. Back then, the Michelin Man was depicted drinking from a goblet filled with nails and broken glass, symbolising the toughness of Michelin tires and their ability to withstand punctures. This connection resonated with me, as the tour's drivers braved tough conditions—torrential rain and hazardous roads—yet all made it safely back to the hotel.
The painting captures the essence of the tour, from coffee stops that were just as essential as fuel stops, to the P&O ferry crossing, Spa, go-karting, the Porsche Museum, racing, and of course, enjoying a drink after a demanding day of navigating and driving.
There’s a limited edition of 30 giclée prints. honouring the 30 individual, amazing cars that embarked on this journey.
